As businesses become more aware of vulnerabilities from third party vendors, many are turning towards third party assessment services to help them determine the risk exposure associated with their business partners. While risk assessments are good point-in-time analyses, businesses need to consider a more comprehensive approach that implements both detection and threat response across all of their connected partners. This coordinated threat response poses wide-reaching technical challenges on business’ security infrastructure, including how to use threat intelligence and deception technologies cross organizationally. This presentation explores the challenges faced when adversaries attack inter-connected businesses in a coordinated campaign and proposes how those businesses can implement effective, coordinated threat responses.
