The following data offers a snapshot into the weekly trends of the top industries being targeted by phishing attacks for the week of May 21-27, 2017.
This week, Internet and Information Services seen no effects in stats for our phishing activity report.
This week, we saw an overall >45% increase in phishing activity. Social Networks saw a 160% increase, followed by Computer Hardware and Banking both at 75%.
Only two industries saw decreases: Telecommunications (>25%) and Dating Sites (>15%).
By pulling information from major Internet Service Providers (ISP), partners, clients, feeds, and our own proprietary honey pots and web crawlers, we are able to get a 360-degree vide of the phishing landscape. The percentages posted are based on the sum of the phishing threats of the top 20 brands, and do not include anything below the top 20 threshold.
