The following data offers a snapshot into the weekly trends of the top industries being targeted by phishing attacks for the week of April 30 – May 6, 2017.
This week, we saw a decrease in phishing activity for the top 20 brands we’re tracking, grouped by industry. Overall activity decreased >3%. The biggest decrease was in Electronic Payment Systems at >50%, followed by Internet and Information Services at >30% and Telecommunications at >15%.
Increases in phishing activity included: Internet Search & Navigation Services (>65%), Computer Hardware (>20%) and Storage and Systems Management Software (>10%).

The percentages posted on our blog are based on the sum of the phishing threats of the top 20 brands, and do not include anything below the top 20 threshold.
