The following data offers a snapshot into the weekly trends of the top industries being targeted by Phishing: The use of emails that appear to be from a legitimate, trusted source that are enticed to trick recipients into entering valid credentials including personal information such as passwords or credit card numbers into a fake platform or service. In this week’s phishing activity report, we saw a >25% increase in overall phishing activity for the top 20 brands we’re tracking, grouped by industry. Internet and Information Services saw the biggest decrease at >335%, followed by Telecommunications at >60% and Internet Search & Navigation Services at >30%.
The industries with the biggest decrease in activity were eCommerce (>30%), Computer Hardware (>15%), and Storage & Systems Management Software (>10%).
